All I Want for Christmas, 2010 - the PSP2

Posted by oliver on 11/24/2009

This Christmas you are probably hoping for a new GO, or a gift certificate at your favourite electronics store, or maybe something old school like two turntables and a microphone. Over at BSN Theo Valich is claiming exclusive insider knowledge of a second generation PSP Sony plans to release “within the next 12 months”.

Brother Theo is hyped about the possibility of a new dual-core ARM CPU, and is especially excited about the new PowerVR graphics chip set to be included, and he has taken “ a look at the specifications with the cold head” (say what?). Suffice to say there will be blood, displayed with millions of polygons, and billions of pixels.

Brother Theo puts up a to-be-released iPhone 4G against the PSP 2 in 2010, but can the iPhone really compete against a PSP which does not rely on touch screen controllers? You tell me. And what about an Apple iTablet early 2010, that may offer gaming muscle and a much larger screen? Ding-ding, get ready for Round 3. I’m glad we are all going to die in 2012, because I can’t take this much excitement for too much longer!

Idiots...they should've gone with the PSP 2 in the first place.

It also sounds like the same thing nintendo is doing to there new dsi, the DSI XL! that is reworked bigger with 2 bigger screens! lol...

The DSi LL has revolutionized something called as pixelation... something we havent seen the days of Pre-Atari. Now we can play games once again with pixels the size of pencil erasers. Of course, the difference now is this wonderful feature is portible and able to be played on the go. While Nintendo recreates the DS into something less spectacular than a N64... the PSP2 will have the graphical power of an Xbox 360.. without the RRoD. And the PS3 isnt even close to being maxed out, i bet the graphics could be better than 1080p with simple firmware upgrade..something like 1420p?!? Goodjob Nintendo. The Wii has the same resolution as an old NES...480. lol. What is the year... 1985? Now thats funny....

Ps3 was maxed out long time ago. Get over it. You are not going to get much better than
what there is now. The GPU doesnt have enough ram to support better graphics. Although the
processor is very advanced it is not what produces the graphics. It is like having a quad core extreme
with 4gb of ram and a 8600gs with 256 of video memory, even though the processor is a beast the GPU bottlenecks the whole system.

Kid just got all crazy with specks and recs and all sorts a metaphors.
In the end ya know, you just pick and choose.

yeah put the dsi LL/XL isnt very "portable" as it one was. bigger= better? ok...i will stick to the ds. And there is no way the psp2 can have the grapical power of an xbox 360, it will be like more of the current gamecube- i mean Wii. lol So the ps3 is maxed at 1080p sence there is no tv that can go bigger yet. HD2 anyone?

yeah it's refreshing that the go is not the end or where they are going remember the gameboy micro, good for, well not much if you had a gameboy Sp then the DS so maybe sony will take a hint and make something more ergonomic because that Go crap is too small and not comfortable

Posted by Glad4this (not verified) on Sat, 12/05/2009 - 04:04

the go is ok. the bluetooth is the best feature. if they are making a psp2 well i only need 3 things added...L2, R2 and a right analog. please. thats it. i find myself enjoying snes and sega on the psp more than anything. graphics are nice but maneuverability and control are whats lacking on the psp. fuck the ds has a better feel with the d pad and stylus. amen to 2018... when project natal becomes self aware...skynet

Its been confirmed that sony will have a new psp go in 2010 but they are bringing back UMD . but i hope they release a psp 2 by 2011 .. PS4 is coming out Nov. 2011

Posted by COLTRANE DA DON (not verified) on Mon, 12/21/2009 - 02:05

ps4 is not coming out nov 2011. whoever believes that is an idiot. the ps3 and x360 will both be around until 2014. sony/microsoft didnt spend a bajillion dollars putting together consoles they only saw as having a 5 (or so) year lifespan.

also, you know dates set that far ahead are barely ever met on time anyways, so even if your 2011 ps4 pipe dream is true, there's no way that date wont get pushed back. it's just too soon, bottom line.

PSP would be so much better if they moved the analog stick to the right side, or if they gave you two like on normal playstation controllers.
