PSP Go Clocking in at 480 Mhz?

Posted by BaXpAcE on 07/05/2009

Earlier reports from Sony claimed the PSP Go was essentially just a hardware upgrade and there wouldn't be any more juice than the previous version. A closer look seems to tell a different story. Documents from the Federal Communications Commission test reports indicate that the PSP Go actually maxes out at 480 MHz.

Whether or not this extra processing power will be utilized for games or other features is yet to be determined. New games developed for the PSP Go may use 480 Mhz but seeing as how previous games we're developed to use 333 Mhz, it's highly unlikely that older games will get any sort of boost on the Go.

The Test Report can be viewed here and is visible on Page 3 section 2.2 under Product Description.

This was proven to be a mistake it actually clocks at 333Mhz and the 480Mhz was the usb transfer speed.
