Rockstar Announces Release Date for PSP GTA

Mark your calendars ladies and gents. The PSP version of Rockstar's highly acclaimed; and formally Nintendo DS only, GTA: China Town Wars is scheduled to hit the shelves on October 20.

Now you may be wondering how the transition from the dual, touch screen DS to the Wide Screen graphically superior PSP will end up fairing right? Well, details aren't exactly readily available but according to representatives from Rockstar, the game will be "specifically built for the PSP platform with upscaled widescreen graphics, enhanced lighting and animation and including all new story missions."

Not bad. I hope the game fairs better than the less than impressive sales numbers of 89,000 sold in the first month of its DS release. GTA: China Town Wars will be available on the PSP both in digital download and UMD formats.

Why can't rockstar just make PC,PSP & nintendo DS versions of all their games ??? they didn't bother to release a PC version at first when they made GTA san nadreas, & look what a big hit it became ?!!! it exceded the sales of all other rockstar games by more than double !!!!!!!!!

I think it has something to do with exclusive licensing deals with the big companies. They all want the rights to these games when they're launched as they not move a ton of units along with pushing hardware sales as well.
